Xiaomi launch an UHD 4Kplus Action Cam

Brand new 4K 60fps action cam.

Xiaomi have launched a new version of their 4K action cam. Bringing 60fps and data rates up to a whopping 135Mbps a second, trouncing GoPro’s now feeble looking 60Mbps. The camera sports a 12.3 Megapixel Sony IMX377 1/2.3-inch Cmos sensor which is almost identical and if not the very same sensor used in the Gopro Hero5 black. The 4K+ is capable of capturing up to 120 Fps in Full HD and 240 Fps in 720p. If you’re also looking to take photos the you can even capture Raw.

Got gloves on? Unable to grab hold of your camera? No problem. The 4k+ has its very own built in voice control. You can shout out phrases such as ‘Take a photo’ or ‘Start recording’ and you’re rolling with ease. The 4K+ is a low power, high performance powerhouse improving processing power by 100% in comparison to the previous model. It also has its very own in body 3 axis gyroscope which enables EIS, or Electronic Image stabilisation which looks to work very effectively. The camera has 2.4G and 5G dual band wifi which can be used to stream any image live to you mobile and then from there to the world via your favourite streaming apps. Utilizing the newest in USB-C technology for charging, rigging up external pics and connecting to your PC. This allows for data transfer rates of 40Mbps up from 20Mbps on the previous model and the 15 Mbps second given to us by the GoPro Hero 5. The unit measures 65mm x 30mm x 42mm and weighs in at solely 3.4 ounces including the camera and battery. The 4K+ is compatible with all the accessories used with Yi’s previous model the 4K. The 4K+ looks to be an incredibly good option if you’re in the market for a new action cam. No pricing has been announced, although the original model the 4K action cam currently only costs 199$.
